Description

Spending much of our time in the mountains we need to keep our safety levels at maximum, Transceivers, shovels, probes and first aid equipment are always a part of our every day equipment list. Not just shoved in the pack and forgotten about, these tools only become useful if they are used properly. This correct use of these products is a focus on all Purefreeride courses. BCA Tracker DTS transceivers have been used extensively with Purefreeride camps, we find they work very well especially inside a 20metre area, bringing you straight into the victim very fast, pin pointing is also made simple and quick by having the clear digital readout.

Description

The new mojo 90 looks as good as it skis. Truly a one ski quiver, fat enough for the sofft stuff with enough sidecut for firmer snow on and off piste. I've used the 90 as a touring ski too, and it performs very well with a Freeride touring binding. Super stable and easy to use.

Description

105cm under the foot, bring it on! This new ski is as wide as a bus! Soft flexing with a limited sidecut provides you with a solid platform so you can just relax and let them rip. Powder performance is outstanding as is anything on softer snow. Hard pack is slightly harder work but then you're got to get to the pow right. For big days and heli action.

Its back and on great form, the new Alipinist is one of the lightest touring ski around. I have these fitted with a Freeride binding and they make a fantastic ligth weight setup for longer and multi trip days out. Very easy to ski on a range of snow types. The Aplinist is just the ticket when you get sick of the crowds.

Mountain biking is a great summer activity that does just this, Chris uses a Rock Mountain 'Slayer' for training, hand built in Canada this bike offers all mountain freeride mountain biking at its best. With heaps of suspension travel the Slayer love's everything from tight single track to warp speed fire tracks and with a Fox float rear shock and sweet geometry the Slayer rips back up the hill too. If there's anything out there that is capable of making you feel ten years old again then it's this car. I had the chance of driving the LP640 along with another Lambo a Gallardo recently. Friends of mine, who run a company offering driving day's, hold event's in the North of England on a number of disused airfield's. The LP640 is a £200,000 200mph super car and it just about the most insane thing I have ever had the luck of driving. A truly amazing experience. Thanks to Nick, Andy and the '6th gear experience team for a fun day. www.6thgearexperience.co.uk

RS100 heat fit

Description

The ability to transfer movements accurately and to feel connected to your skis is a crucial part of performance skiing. Finding boots that suit your foot shape and ability will enable you to improve faster and easier. I use Head ski boots and this year have been riding the RS100, this freeride/race boot suits my foot shape and offers the right amount of forward flex to suit both my needs and skiing style. Encapsulating the foot to such a degree I can feel exactly what's happening beneath his feet, making tiny adjustments whilst skiing I can fine-tune each turn. Feeling for the amount of grip at any given point of the turn and throughout the length of the ski, ready for what ever the mountain is going to throw at me. Especially important on uneven terrain, ice and when skiing at speed.

Description

Jon Olsson's new weapon of choice for big mountains freestyle and general ripping, the Mojo 90 is based on last years Mad Trix Mojo with the couple of tweaks to improve an already super sorted ride. I like balance between heaps of surface area and the flex that give's you a stable and relaxing ride. If you really want to throw down! you don't want to be worrying about wether your skis are going to have a moment or not, you just want to be able to let them do the work. Thats why I like them so much.
